METEA Partnership Leader
Leader Björn is the director of Open Development & Education. He is an advocate for international cooperation and development, Global Public Goods, open development practices, Open Access, and Open Education and their role in global equity. He specializes in sustainable and scalable approaches for programme implementation to improve educational outcomes — across primary, secondary, and higher education. His research interests include digital technology (for education and research), teacher professional development, education systems research and equity/inclusion and work-based learning, and the role of multi-loop reflective learning for effective research designs and programming. Björn is a founding director at the EdTech Hub (https://edtechhub.org) and a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Education (University of Johannesburg, https://www.uj.ac.za/faculties/facultyofeducation).
