Dr Björn Haßler

Björn Haßler is an advocate for equity in education, Global Public Goods, and Open Education. He specialises in sustainable and scalable approaches for programme implementation. He has extensive experience in employing interdisciplinary approaches to researching education, technology, and climate change.  Since completing a PhD in Climate Change at the University of Cambridge, Dr Haßler has led many impactful research projects, including programme evaluations and implementation research. Dr Haßler’s engagement with FCDO and other international bodies demonstrates his proficiency in influencing decision-making processes, underscored by his leadership in multidisciplinary teams to enhance educational equity and inclusion. He is experienced in quality assuring research outputs, as well as excellent research and project management skills, as illustrated by his publication record and his organisational management of Open Development & Education. Björn is a director of Open Development & Education, technical director/founding director at EdTech Hub and visiting researcher at the Faculty of Education (University of Johannesburg).
