Danny has a background in mathematics having studied at the University of Warwick. An interest in maths education led him to become involved in various education initiatives across Africa, first at AIMSSEC, South Africa supporting their teacher training courses and then at African Maths Initiative (AMI), organising maths camps & clubs in schools as well as programs for university students in Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia. He has since been involved in projects that cut across the mathematical sciences and development in Africa including two research projects at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, developing tools to support better use and understanding of data. Danny is currently a director of IDEMS International a UK Community Interest Company www.africanmathsinitiative.net/, working to impact African maths education by working closely with AMI and supporting the charity SAMI.
